Ready to get your pet microchipped and registered? It's a breeze! First, head over to the SmartTrace Website: https://smarttrace.org.uk/auth/register.
Then fill out the form with your information, check your details and click “Register”.

After creating a SmartTrace account, click on the “Search Microchip” button on the top right part of the page and enter your microchip pet’s microchip number. This will provide you with information regarding your pet’s microchip.
Click the “Register” or “Proceed” button, then fill out the form/s and pay the registration/transfer fee. Afterwards, you will receive a confirmation email and a temporary Registration Certificate.

You will normally receive a copy of the microchip number from the breeder, rescue, or previous owner of your pet. If they were unable to provide you with a copy of this, please visit your vet and have the pet scanned.
Note: Please take a photo of the scanner showing the microchip number. Our support team will ask for this for verification/documentation purposes.
If you encounter a lost pet, approach it cautiously, avoiding loud noises and sudden movements. Check for ID tags or a microchip, and if neither is found, contact animal control or a vet clinic to reunite the lost pet with its owner.
The first step to finding your pet is to report your microchip as lost and your details are updated especially your contact information. This allows authorities and practices to identify that the pet has been reported lost and can reunite the pet with their keepers.

In case the microchip is registered in a different database, it needs to be archived from their database first before we can add it to ours. To process this, send an email to their support team and let them know that you’d like to move your microchip to SmartTrace. They will then coordinate with us so we can register the microchip.
